Many years ago, I made my first drum
and shared it with a friend.
We started calling it a SlapDrum.
I was encouraged to share these instruments by the musicians
who played them.
The music industry is rewarding and
full of wonderful people.
I have been making music (noise to some)
and SlapDrums ever since.
Thanks! - Chris
What about Chris?
I majored in Materials Engineering and graduated 2nd in my class from California Polytechnic University in Southern California. Currently, I work at a Product Development Company: skateboards to optical inspection stations – we do it all. I deal with product development, design solutions, material selection, testing, and tooling.. Need any engineering - email me. I have customers from California to Vermont... Yeehaa! The life of an engineer.
My full time job: Dad. I have two daughters and a beautiful wife. Yea, I am out voted three to one when it comes to what movie we are going to watch, but life is GREAT!
My hobbies: I like to build it! Clubhouse, sand box, furniture, minibike, and of course drums. The SlapDrum has an amazing effect on people... I love to hear “Can I try it?”

What About the Development?
First of all it is ongoing - 'cause its fun!! But, a long long time ago, I made my first SlapDrum and shared it with a friend, Erik. He records music, plays guitars and drums; Erik has a natural talent finding the groove. I brought my first SlapDrum to Erik. He confirmed, “I had made this… all by myself” - the typical friend harassment - then he picked up (The DEEP!) SlapDrum, cradled it under an arm, and gave it a slap. Surprised at the sound, his eyebrows raised, then nodding his head in a slow and approving manner, he said, “Whooa… cool!” We both sat down and played with it, talking about further improvements and how he wants to take it up to his studio. Then I registered it and now I even have the right to own the word "SlapDrum" Ahhha America!! Then it went to the studio for more recording and I have been making music (noise to some) and SlapDrums ever since.
